Faith Council

Responsible, Caring, Fearless & Secure

Responsible, Caring, Fearless & Secure

At Roehampton Church Forest School, our Faith Council is not simply a group that fulfils a role - it is a powerful expression of a school where faith is lived, experienced and deeply felt.

Rooted in our Christian vision, “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity”, our children do far more than participate in spiritual life — they shape it. This vision is not just understood; it is visible in the confidence, kindness and integrity of our pupils every single day (SIAMS 2026)

Our Faith Council reflects this lived reality.

Our pupils create experiences that are inspiring, joyful and transformative. Collective worship at Roehampton is described as uplifting and deeply reflective, offering meaningful opportunities for both pupils and adults to grow spiritually (SIAMS 2026). Our children lead these moments with sincerity and depth - crafting prayers, guiding reflection and creating spaces where everyone, regardless of background, feels included and valued.

Our pupils are nurtured to think deeply, question meaningfully and reflect spiritually. Through initiatives like our “deep thinker” books, children capture their thoughts, questions and spiritual insights — building a rich journey of personal growth over time (SIAMS 2026). This culture of reflection is not incidental; it is intentionally cultivated and championed by our pupils themselves.

What truly sets Roehampton Church Forest School apart is how faith is woven into every experience.

Our unique forest school provision brings spirituality to life in the natural world, allowing children to connect with creation, experience stillness and encounter God in deeply personal ways (SIAMS 2026). Our Faith Council plays a vital role in ensuring this depth is felt across the school.

They lead with a strong sense of justice and responsibility, actively shaping a culture where fairness, compassion and courage are lived values. Pupils are empowered to stand up for what is right, engage in meaningful discussions about ethical issues and take real action - from national campaigns to local community initiatives. Their work is not symbolic; it creates genuine impact.

They also embody a deep commitment to service.

From organising charity events to reaching out to the local community, our pupils demonstrate an understanding that faith calls us to act. Small acts - like leaving planted bulbs on doorsteps to bring joy - reflect a much bigger truth: our children understand the power of kindness and their responsibility to make a difference (SIAMS 2026).

Importantly, every child flourishes.

Our inclusive approach ensures that all pupils, including those with SEND or additional needs, grow spiritually, socially and academically alongside their peers (SIAMS 2026).

This is a community where individuality is celebrated, relationships are strong and every child is known and valued.

And perhaps most powerfully - our children live their faith.

They show kindness without prompting. They take responsibility naturally. They build friendships rooted in respect and understanding. They approach the world with curiosity, empathy and moral courage.

This is what makes RCFS exceptional.

We do not simply meet expectations for SIAMS. We create a culture where faith is authentic, pupil-led and transformational - where children are not only learning about values, but embodying them in the way they think, act and live.

At Roehampton Church Forest School, faith is not something we do.

It is who we are.
