Remote Learning
Remote Learning at RCFS
Responsible, Caring, Fearless & Secure
At Roehampton Church Forest School, we are committed to ensuring that every child continues to feel connected, supported and encouraged in their learning, even when attending school is not possible.
“Teach me knowledge and good judgement.”
Psalm 119:66
Attendance in school remains the best form of education, and remote learning is not an equal alternative to being in school. However, there may be exceptional circumstances where remote learning is needed as a last resort, when the alternative would be no education and when it is reasonable, safe and appropriate for the pupil to learn remotely.
In these situations, RCFS will provide learning that is meaningful, accessible and appropriate for pupils’ age, stage and needs. Our aim is to help children continue with their learning, maintain routines and remain part of our caring school community, while supporting pupils to return to in-person education as soon as it is safe and appropriate.
Remote learning may include online tasks, teacher guidance, independent activities, reading, practical learning, approved online resources, telephone support or printed packs.
We recognise that every family’s circumstances are different and encourage parents and carers to contact the school if they need help with access, devices, internet, SEND support, language needs or pupil wellbeing.
Safeguarding and online safety remain our highest priorities.
We work closely with families to ensure that remote learning is safe, respectful and manageable for pupils, parents and staff.
