'How good and pleasant it is when God's people live together in unity.' Psalm 133:1
At Roehampton Church Forest School, our English curriculum is built around high-quality children’s literature, carefully selected from texts recommended by the Centre for Literacy in Primary Education (CLPE). Wherever possible, these texts are closely linked to the cross-curricular themes studied each half-term, enabling pupils to make meaningful connections across different subjects while developing their reading, writing, speaking and listening skills.
These carefully chosen books form the foundation of both our reading and writing lessons, inspiring pupils to engage deeply with language, explore a range of genres and develop their creativity, confidence and communication skills.
