It is a real pleasure to welcome you to Roehampton Church Forest School (RCFS), a small Church of England primary school with a strong sense of belonging. 

We are proud of our Christian ethos, nurtured through our close partnership with Holy Trinity Church, and warmly welcome children and families of all faiths and none. Our wonderfully diverse community is one of the strengths of our school. Children learn alongside others from different cultures, backgrounds and experiences, enriching their understanding of one another and of the world around them.

It is this sense of belonging, individuality and growing together that shapes our vision, “Nurturing Individuality, Growing Together, Embracing Community,” rooted in Psalm 133:1, “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity”

 Our values of Respect, Compassion, Friendship and Service bring this to life in the way we treat each other and the contribution we make to our school and wider community. 

Inclusion is at the heart of everything we do. We recognise that children do not all learn, develop or experience school in the same way, and our approach reflects this. We respond to individual needs and remain equally ambitious for every child, ensuring that each has the opportunity to thrive and experience success. 

Our Forest School identity adds something distinctive to that experience. Every child, from Nursery through to Year 6, takes part in regular Forest School sessions. We are privileged to have Putney Heath on our doorstep, providing an exceptional natural environment for learning and exploration. Learning outdoors gives our children the freedom to explore and provides opportunities for challenge, supported risk and discovery.  Forest School is about the holistic development of the child – helping children grow emotionally, socially and physically, as well as intellectually. Their connection with the natural world supports mental wellbeing, while their experiences build resilience and develop life skills that extend far beyond the classroom. 

Choosing the right school for your child is an important and deeply personal decision, and we never underestimate the trust that families place in us. Parents and carers know their children in a way that nobody else does, and that knowledge matters to us. The relationship between home and school is therefore much more than keeping parents informed. It is a partnership in which we listen, communicate openly and work together throughout a child’s time at RCFS.
