Welcome

Responsible, Caring, Fearless & Secure

Welcome to Roehampton Church Forest Primary School. Thank you for visiting our website. I hope you find the information both helpful and informative, as you begin to learn about our small and wonderful school.

Roehampton Church Forest School, or RCFS as we are known, is a one-form entry primary school for children aged 3 to 11 (Nursery to Year 6). Situated in the heart of Roehampton, next to Putney Heath, we have continuously served our local community since 1828.

At RCFS, we are proud of the warm, nurturing community we have created, built upon strong Christian foundations. We warmly welcome all children and families, celebrating the richness that comes from a diverse community. Every child is valued, supported and encouraged to flourish. We celebrate individual strengths and provide opportunities for all children to grow and develop at their own pace, enabling them to reach their full potential in every aspect of their lives. As a fully inclusive school, we are committed to meeting the needs of all learners, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and those who are more able. We ensure that every child is both supported and appropriately challenged so they can thrive.

Our vision, “Nurturing Individuality, Growing Together, Embracing Community,” is underpinned by the Bible verse:
“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity.” (Psalm 133:1)

To bring this vision to life, we have established our core values: Responsible, Caring, Fearless and Secure. These values are at the heart of everything we do and are embedded across the school from Nursery to Year 6. They guide how we learn, how we treat one another and how we contribute to our community. We strive to ensure that every child feels safe and confident, enabling them to take risks in their learning, develop resilience and grow into thoughtful, responsible individuals, who can make a positive difference locally and globally.

Our journey to becoming a recognised Forest School is an important part of our identity. Our Level 3 trained practitioners deliver a bespoke Forest School curriculum, carefully linked to the National Curriculum and Religious Education. This approach, alongside our Christian ethos, supports children in reflecting on their learning, behaviour and role as global citizens.

We are also fortunate to enjoy a close partnership with Holy Trinity Church. The guidance and support of the clergy team, along with shared acts of worship, strengthen our Christian ethos and help our children to grow in faith, kindness and understanding. This partnership nurtures a strong sense of belonging and purpose within our school community.

Our staff are dedicated, caring and hardworking and are committed to ensuring every child feels valued and succeeds. We are proud to be an inclusive team. Our team’s strong sense of commitment is reflected in our low staff turnover, which provides consistency and stability for our children and helps create a stable and nurturing environment for all.

We are also supported by a highly committed governing body, whose members bring a wide range of skills and expertise. United by a shared vision, they work closely with school leaders to ensure the very best outcomes for all pupils and the continued success of our school.

We are equally grateful to our parents and carers, who play a vital role in our school community. Their enthusiasm, support and fundraising efforts enrich the experiences we can offer and help to create a strong, connected community for all.

Please enjoy exploring our website and if you feel that RCFS may be the right school for your child and family, we warmly invite you to contact the school office to arrange a personal tour.

We would be delighted to welcome you.

Best wishes,
